VOLLEYBALL
In this unit students will review basic skills of volleyball (bump, set, spike, serve) along with the rules of the game. After the review, students will be placed on teams to start a tournament. With the last two to four days of the unit the students will play a championship round to determine the class champions for the period.
Some things you should know about volleyball:
*If a ball hits the boundary line of the court the ball is considered in (lines are good)
*You may serve the ball anywhere behind the end-line of the court
*Rotation is clockwise
*6 members on the court at a time
*Three contacts with the ball per side except if a block occurs first (if a block occurs there will still be three contacts allowed after the block)
*If during the serve the ball hits the net and continues over the ball is playable
*Bump, Set, and Spike (Forearm pass or dig is also acceptable for bump)
